Today, the Beverly Hills Screenwriting Competition announced its 2019 Winners and "Batter Up," James A. Humphrey's full length feature screenplay won the Silver (2nd place) in the "Family Films" category. The screenplay is a "coming of age" baseball story about a youth baseball player gifted by the ghost of baseball's past with Randy Johnson's unhittable slider who must use (or not use) the magic pitch to defeat his team's bully and add baseball's order to the chaos of his own life.
