In the budget released by the budget conferees the Texas Moving Image Industry Program received $22M for the two-year budget. This is less than the $32M in the prior budget, and less than half of the 72M the Governor requested for his budget. It appears that the Legislature has given the Governor’s Office some flexibility to increase that amount, by providing substantial additional unallocated funds to be used broadly in their discretion for economic development purposes. This could possibly include additional funding for our rebate program. So the final amount actually available for the #TMIIIP will likely not be known for some time.
